Section A: Project Information
o Through supervising and engaging in academic discussions on numerous theses at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, It has become evident that students struggle with:
1. Identifying and demonstrating the scientific gaps in their research.
2. Linguistically articulating their ideas and study findings in a clear and scientifically rigorous manner.
The difficulty in identifying research gaps often arises from a lack of a structured research methodology, making it challenging for students to establish the novelty of their topic and its significance in addressing existing gaps. Instead, they tend to rely on broad reviews of previous studies, selectively differentiating them rather than critically analyzing and positioning their work within the existing body of knowledge.
The second challenge, concerning linguistic formulation, is primarily linked to the overall decline in Arabic language proficiency among the current generation
Generative AI, particularly advanced text generation models like GANs, GPT, and BERT, offers significant potential tools for addressing these challenges, especially when tailored for educational and research contexts.
To address these challenges, a proposed solution is to train students in effectively using a generative AI tool (ChatGPT-4) to enhance their skills in identifying research gaps and refining their drafts.

Section C: Project Details
• Through supervising and engaging in academic discussions on numerous theses at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, it has become evident that students struggle with:
1. Identifying and demonstrating the scientific gaps in their research.
2. Linguistically articulating their ideas and study findings in a clear and scientifically rigorous manner.
• Generative AI, with its advanced text generation capabilities through deep learning models, offers a fast and high-quality solution to the challenge of identifying research gaps when used as a research assistant. Additionally, it can effectively serve as an initial tool for structuring research drafts.
The implementation of the proposed solution involves guiding research students in utilizing the generative AI tool (ChatGPT-4) through training in query refinement and a structured, step-by-step approach to optimize the tool’s capabilities. A comprehensive methodology will be developed to improve the use of ChatGPT-4, ensuring high-quality research outcomes. Additionally, training workshops will be organized to further enhance the skills of researchers. The next phase includes the design of a comprehensive software solution, incorporating an AI robot programmed to interact with the tool in a professional and autonomous manner.
To support development, access to ChatGPT-4, computing resources, and skilled trainers for the workshops will be required. The success of the solution depends on effective training and follow-up with academic students to ensure the acquisition of necessary skills.
The core functionalities of the solution include query refinement, following a structured workflow to maximize the tool’s potential, and improving research outcomes. These functionalities are designed to enhance the overall research process and support the production of high-quality academic work.
An application will be developed later, along with training a robot to interact directly with generative artificial intelligence tools
This project leverages the advanced capabilities of artificial intelligence, specifically ChatGPT-04, to address common challenges in academic research. The process involves students receiving training in the following areas:
1. Learning to choose a relevant research area and extract key terms related to the research problem
2. Identifying and using important scientific databases, such as Dar Al-Mandhouma, for Arabic-language research.
3. Using ChatGPT-04 to identify studies connected to the research keywords.
4. Using ChatGPT-04 to summarize identified studies, including key research problems and findings.
5. Using ChatGPT-04 to detect research gaps by analyzing the summarized studies.
6. Based on the insights gained, researchers refine their research problems into central questions and confirm the existence of research gaps with ChatGPT-04.
7. Utilizing ChatGPT-04 to search for relevant English-language studies and explore global databases, such as the Web of Science.
8. Utilizing ChatGPT-04 to provide translated summaries of international studies.
9. Using ChatGPT-04 to gather sources related to the research problem.
10. After reviewing the gathered sources, researchers categorize citations and allocate them across their research plan chapters. ChatGPT-04 then generates preliminary drafts for each chapter, which researchers can refine to align with their academic voice.
11. Utilizing ChatGPT-04 to help researchers connect chapters to specialized fields, such as Da’wah, judicial studies, or educational research.
The outlined process demonstrates how ChatGPT-04 introduces innovative elements that significantly enhance researchers' abilities, particularly in identifying research gaps and improving the presentation of their findings. Over time, this approach can contribute to the overall improvement of scientific research quality. However, it is critical for researchers to use ChatGPT-04's outputs as a tool for enhancement and avoid relying solely on them, as doing so would compromise academic integrity.
The solution involves designing an independent programming system for researchers to input their research plans and citations, combined with a robotic program that automatically interacts with artificial intelligence (AI), minimizing manual usage. This approach is tailored to address the increasing demand for AI in enhancing the quality of scientific research and fostering the development of researchers' skills.
In terms of sustainability, the solution reduces reliance on paper-based processes and manual inputs, supporting environmental sustainability. It also fosters long-term user engagement by continuously updating and refining the AI-driven features, ensuring the platform adapts to evolving research needs. A specialized company will be created for educational consulting, overseeing the design of independent programming focused on developing researchers' skills and providing training on interacting with AI. This company will manage groups of researchers and platform users, ensuring efficient development and management processes.
The solution enables university students to conduct research that tackles challenges within their communities. This aligns with the core mission of universities to solve real-world problems and promote well-being and stability. By equipping students with the skills to drive meaningful change, it enriches their lives and empowers them to conduct impactful, actionable research.
To measure its social impact, metrics such as the number of relevant research studies conducted, their application within the community, citation frequency, and the engagement of students from various backgrounds are tracked. Responsiveness to evolving community needs is ensured through the maintenance of feedback loops with local organizations and stakeholders, allowing adjustments to the research focus as societal challenges emerge.
