1.Problem Identification and Relevance in Education (Maximum 300 words)

In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, educators face the challenge of creating engaging and relevant learning materials that cater to diverse student needs. Traditional content creation approaches are often time-consuming and lack adaptability, leaving educators overwhelmed and students disengaged. This realization sparked the idea for the IDEAL-Gen.AI platform, developed by the DREAM Team (Digital Resources for Enhancing Adaptive Methodologies). The team was inspired by the potential of generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to streamline instructional design, making it more efficient and responsive to educational demands.

The hypothesis underlying this project is that by leveraging generative AI, we can empower educators to create customized, high-quality learning materials that align with their specific pedagogical goals. We believe that IDEAL-Gen.AI will succeed because it addresses a critical gap in the current educational ecosystem: the need for personalized and adaptable instructional content. By providing an easy-to-use platform with an Automatic Prompt Generator, IDEAL-Gen.AI allows educators to input specific criteria, across advanced filtering options, to generate tailored learning activities, lesson plans and assessment tasks.

Moreover, the integration of sound pedagogical principles ensures that the generated content fosters active learning and critical thinking, essential for student engagement. The DREAM Team is confident that this approach will enhance teaching efficiency and improve student outcomes by delivering more relevant and interactive learning experiences. As educational institutions increasingly seek innovative solutions to meet diverse learner needs, IDEAL-Gen.AI is poised to make a significant impact, transforming how instructional content is created and delivered. In an era of shifting educational demands, the IDEAL-Gen.AI platform revolutionizes instructional design by harnessing generative AI to empower educators with innovative, pedagogically robust tools. By seamlessly combining advanced AI capabilities with evidence-based teaching practices, the DREAM Team’s initiative enhances teaching efficiency while fostering deeper student engagement and improved learning outcomes across diverse educational contexts.

2b. Technical Implementation and Performance (for Stream 3&4 only) (Maximum 300 words)

The IDEAL-Gen.AI chatbot platform employs a modular, layered architecture designed to seamlessly integrate generative AI into instructional design, prioritizing scalability, adaptability and user-centric functionality. Designed for ease of navigation, it ensures efficient prompt generation. At its core, the platform comprises a user interface (UI) and a robust AI processing engine for tailored content generation, underpinned by a three-tier architecture:

1. Frontend: A streamlined React-based UI allows users to input criteria, such as degree level, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy), rubric requirements, and delivery methods, through an intuitive dashboard;
2. AI Layer: Transforms the selected criteria (e.g., degree level, course title, delivery method, instructional design model, rubric criteria, etc.) into structured actionable AI prompts using Machine Learning (ML) algorithms, generating tailored outputs such as learning activities, lesson plans and assessment tasks;
3. Backend: A Node.js server validates input and interfaces with third-party LLMs (Mistral AI, DeepSeek) for real-time processing to generate tailored instructional content.

The workflow follows a structured sequence: users select parameters, the backend validates and formats inputs, and the AI engine produces customized content, ensuring pedagogical relevance. Key innovations include a dynamic prompt generator feature that merges form-based inputs with NLP to guide LLMs in generating pedagogically sound resources, and advanced filters enable control over outputs.

Development followed an agile methodology across four phases:
1. Phase 1: Drafted Software Requirements Specification (SRS) and designed UI/UX mock-ups;
2. Phase 2: Developed the platform and integrated LLM APIs;
3. Phase 3: Conducted rigorous testing and optimization for accuracy, usability and scalability;
4. Phase 4: Deployed the platform to end-users.

Performance metrics include:
1. User Engagement: Targeting 80% active usage among users;
2. Response Accuracy: Aiming for 95% accuracy in generated prompts;
3. User Satisfaction: Seeking 90% positive feedback through post-interaction surveys, assessing ease of use, relevance and iterative refinements.

3. Innovation and Creativity (Maximum 300 words)

The IDEAL-Gen.AI platform's pioneering use of generative AI revolutionizes the instructional design landscape, empowering educators with unprecedented personalization, ease and time-saving efficiency in content creation. By leveraging generative AI, particularly through its fully editable Automatic Prompt Generator feature, the platform distinguishes itself from its competitors and stands as a game-changer in the education AI-enhanced technology landscape and market.

What makes this platform truly innovative is the level of personalization and customization it offers to educators. Applying generative AI-powered instructional design, the platform enables educators to specify detailed criteria across a comprehensive set of filtering options, such as the subject discipline, area of study, degree level, technology use, class size and activity size. The platform's use of advanced AI algorithms enables the generation of tailored learning activities, lesson plans and assessment tasks that perfectly align with the user's specific requirements and pedagogical needs.

Moreover, the automatically generated prompts are fully editable and customizable, allowing the user to fine-tune the prompts for high-quality, discipline-specific outputs. This flexibility enables educators to further refine and enhance the prompts to seamlessly align with their unique instructional design requirements and pedagogical needs. This level of personalization is unparalleled in the current market, where other solutions in the market offer one-size-fits-all static templates that generate generic, non-discipline-specific outputs, lacking the depth and specificity required for effective instructional design.

In contrast, the platform’s ability to generate highly customized learning materials using generative AI sets a new standard for education technology. This level of customization and personalization is unmatched in the current AI-enhanced technology landscape, making IDEAL-Gen.AI a game-changing solution.
