Section A: Project Information
In today's digital landscape, social media has reshaped communication, making vlogging an essential tool for storytelling and self-expression.
Recent studies highlight this shift. A 2019 survey of 3,000 children in the US (aged 8–12) and a USCI Poll Research Centre study on the aspirations of 1,000 Malaysian SPM leavers (Yeoh, 2023) indicate that youth increasingly see vlogging as a viable career path. However, despite its popularity, many aspiring vloggers—especially those from underserved regions like Sabah, Malaysia—face barriers such as limited access to resources, structured guidance, and digital literacy training. Alarmingly, about 10,000 Malaysian SPM leavers recently did not sit for their exams, raising concerns about academic disengagement.
With more young people aspiring to become content creators, structured guidance in vlogging skills is critical—especially in educational settings. This innovation aims to bridge this gap by providing learners with essential digital communication and content creation skills.

Section C: Project Details
Key Challenges in ESL Learning and Vlogging
1. High Dropout Rate: Approximately 10,000 Malaysian SPM leavers recently did not sit for their national exams, raising concerns about educational engagement and retention.
2. Rising Interest in Vlogging: A 2019 survey of 3,000 children (aged 8–12) in the US and a USCI Poll Research Centre study on 1,000 Malaysian SPM leavers (aged 18–20) highlight a growing enthusiasm for vlogging as a career and learning tool (Yeoh, 2023).
3. Barriers to Entry for New Vloggers: Despite its popularity, many aspiring vloggers—particularly those from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds—struggle due to:
i) Lack of structured guidance on content creation and storytelling.
ii) Limited access to resources such as quality recording equipment and editing tools.
iii) Insufficient familiarity with vlogging techniques and digital platforms makes establishing an online presence difficult.
