Students/graduates unsure about their future career path. Currently, there are platforms that attempt to solve this issue, such as Linkedin, MySkillFuture website, career advisors (in school), PathMatch and more. However, most of these do not fully integrate all your data like GPA, coursework, interests, personality, values, time constraints, location preferences, etc. For example, in Singapore, MySkillsFuture is a platform many Singaporean youth use. Despite the popularity, this platform has numerous flaws. First, the personality quizzes are way too long winded and unnecessary. Additionally, the career choices are very messy, there are numerous quizzes which give different results. The system does not compile all your data together and give you a direct opportunity choice. It also does not use your past education and does not show you what future education you can pursue. Thus, we want to make an even improved version, with an AI implemented platform, that allows students and graduates worldwide to be able to find a good career and education path. Additionally, most students would still be unsure about which career pathway suits them the best, as they lack experience and exposure to how they would work in that occupation.
Our solution is an app that allows everybody to find the best career they can pursue, with a personalized career path planning that is inclusive to everyone worldwide. This app will use data of the users past education, interests, skills, location preferences, personality, age, exam scores e.t.c. After inputting all these, an AI (will also use data from schools worldwide/jobs offering online) will use this data to suggest numerous options the user can try (e.g. university/job scopes/majors). These options will include the price to study there/payment, where it is offered, skills required and more. The options will be neatly shown using a mind map feature that shows the users past studies and jobs and possible options for further studies/jobs. Users can click on each part of the mind map to learn more about the job scope/school. Overall, the app will help students and graduates of all ages to find a suitable career path/education path based on their strengths, character and interests.
The proposed solution is the best solution as it provides the user with a fully personalised, data-driven pathway for each of them, which current platforms lack. Instead of only offering broad or generic suggestions, our app uses Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) to analyze the users' academic scores, interests, skills and personalities traits, recommending them different tailored education and career pathways. Using this app, users would be able to easily explore and understand the variety of pathways available to them for their future. This proposed solution directly addresses the problems found in existing platforms like MySkillsFuture, such as poor integration, inconsistency, low engagement, and lack of privacy. Our platform delivers a fully personalised and global education and career pathway for each individual. Additionally, by integrating data about global jobs and education, our app will be inclusive and accessible to people globally, and not limited to a singular country. Unlike the conventional quizzes used to find out the user’s traits and preferences, our app consolidates all the relevant information needed into a seamless, user-friendly experience, guiding them towards making confident and well-informed decisions about their futures.
