VRGuardians TrAIlBlazers: Transforming Emergency Preparedness with AR & AI
Schools typically have emergency drills that are old, boring, and not like how students really act when they're stressed. These old-fashioned ways of teaching don't get students involved and don't take into account cultural, emotional, or situational variances. Students often go through the motions without knowing what to do when a real crisis happens. This causes pupils to drop out, lose confidence, and not be ready for the next level, especially if they have a neurodiverse or nervous mind. In genuine cases, waiting too long or panicking might be deadly. The existing one-size-fits-all strategy does not create answers that are automatic and strong.
Impact: This issue endangers students, interrupts productive teaching time, and goes against the aims of fair and equal education (UN SDG 4). Schools are still at risk, and children are still not ready, without modern, flexible training.
Our answer is an immersive training system powered by AI that uses AR/VR to mimic emergency situations. The system uses Bayesian models to tailor each session to the student's pace and way of learning. Machine learning keeps track of how decisions are made in real time, how people feel about them, and how things are going.
AI makes adaptive pacing, stress detection, and scenario generation possible.
Computational thinking helps people make decisions in situations, like whether to stay or go, what route to take, and what to do first.
Programming lets the backend (Node.js + MongoDB + Redis) and frontend (Three.js, WebXR) make dynamic environments, keep track of metrics, and send teachers insights through cloud dashboards.
The system has gamified learning, NPC guides that are open to everyone, and biometric feedback in real time. Deepseek-R1 gives teachers behavior-based reports that show signs of hesitation and tension early on.
This is the best answer since it uses the latest AI, psychological insight, and real-world testing. Our platform strengthens muscle memory through realistic, high-stakes practice, which makes it easy to make quick, calm decisions. This is different from drills that rely on memorisation. It works: in tests with more than 50 pupils, engagement went up to over 90%.
It can be changed to fit any area or educational system. It includes cultural adaptation and AI that has been checked for bias. And it's long-lasting because it simply needs a VR headset and an internet connection, and updates and analysis are done in the cloud.
Some other solutions only give training that doesn't change or apps that are too general. We provide real-time, changing simulations with built-in tests. It teaches pupils what to do and how to think when things get tough. That's what keeps people alive.
